Membership Benefits
Not just an insurance policy! Our clubs and associate members all benefit and contribute to the following;
- Competitive and comprehensive insurance – Your affiliation includes insurance, a ‘no nonsense’ policy providing public liability cover of €6.5million to our members and clubs for their activities. Immediately your committee and club members are protected against any claim arising against them whilst out angling as a club, running an event, fishing another federation event or just out fishing. As a member of the Federation of Irish Sport we have a quality insurance product brokered by the FIS on behalf of 26 other sports bodies. Our policy therefore has the benefit of their recommendation after a professional assessment and is negotiated by a brokerage firm with a sterling international reputation, JLT who have sports clientele such as the Rugby World Cup, Football World Cup and The Olympics. Our broker and our underwriters IPB are registered in Dublin. This means our contract is enforceable in Irish courts. NCFFI is not expert in Insurance, that’s why we deal with professionals to guide us. Other groups without our national and international connections offer insurance from underwriters not registered in Ireland north or south and these groups act as brokers without training or registration. Please contact us for more details.
- The world stage – As an Individual or club member you are entitled to participate in trials for selection for our international teams, Feeder, Float & Predator at Senior and Junior level for which the NCFFI providing funding and sponsorship for selected events. This is available to all our members as the NCFFI affiliates with CIPS and FIPSed and is the only recognised coarse angling body in Ireland. No other group can represent Ireland at CIPs/FIPSed International Coarse and Predator Events.
- Coaching – An important factor in the future development of our sport. We are affiliated to the Angling Council of Ireland with whom we work closely to ensure all our members can progress on the coaching pathway and obtain certification. All members can apply for Garda vetting free of charge required for working with juniors and vulnerable people. Coaching courses are heavily subsidised, usually €20 and sometimes free of charge to our members.

We will provide free promotion of your club’s events, festivals and activities via this website and Facebook and Twitter as well as those of our partners.

There are many horror stories of long running disputes ending up in court in all sporting organisations which sap the energy, joy & enthusiasm from committee and members alike; the NCFFI grasped this nettle for it’s members and leads the way in developing fair and transparent structures to deal with problems as they arise. As an NCFFI member your club will benefit from support in dealing with complaints in a professional and fair way though our Complaints & Discipline Procedures.
