Home water success for Fermoy CAA winners of this years World Club Qualifiers on the River Blackwater in Fermoy, they will now travel to Serbia for the WCFWC in 2011. The South Munster/Mallow club took second place. A great weekend was had by all teams with some very good catches of Dace.

On the 16th June 2010 the six man Maver backed Ireland Team to compete in the 57th Freshwater angling Championships set off for Merida in Spain with a new grim determination, click here
Fantastic results for Irish Team at the World Championships in Merida, Spain. Ireland finished a very creditable 4th place overall just missing out on a team medal but it was an Individual Silver Medal for Galway man Cathal Hughes. Congradulations and well done to Cathal and all of the Team.

At Carrickmacross District Court on the 2nd December 2009 a number of cases of illegal fishing activity were brought before Judge Sean Mc Bride. Evidence in five cases of violations of the Fisheries Consolidation Act (illegal fishing methods) were presented to Judge Mc Bride who was no longer prepared to countenance any further plundering of our natural resources.
