As I prepare to go down to the Killyhevlin Hotel this morning to start to dismantle the infrastructure we have put in place, I would like to pay tribute
to our members and partners who helped deliver an “outstanding event”, (not my words, this was the reaction of all the teams taking part in the World Championships.)
I spent a large part of the night shaking hands with many teams captains and delegates, with years of experience of attending World Championships.
All were offering their congratulations to the NCFFI for hosting a World Championships that will for ever remain in their memory as “one of the all-time best.”
I thank all those who assisted me over the past few months, you have all helped to promote our organisation and our credibility in the international angling community and I am very proud of the way you have risen to the challenge to deliver this event.
Having been involved for many years in International Angling, I was again so proud to be standing there to witness the awarding of the Individual Bronze medal to
Tomi and Jacek. This was the icing on the cake.
Well done to you all, you can be proud of what we have achieved.
International Event Committee
The NCFFI are delighted to announce that they have secured SKY TV programme coverage for the World Championships Boat Fishing with Lures which is due to start in Enniskillen on Thursday.
SKY have dispatched a top production team to the event and will produce a 1 hour highlights programme to be screened worldwide. In addition there will also be coverage of the event, on SKY TV premier weekly Angling show hosted by Keith Arthur – Tight lines.
As the 14 teams (a record for this event) start arriving in Enniskillen, the NCFFI organising committee consider this deal as the icing on the cake, as far as the hosting of the event is concerned.
The production will showcase the Angling Tourism potential of our beautiful country as well as projecting the capabilities of our organisation to a wider angling audience.
The NCFFI organising committee would like to express our thanks to the Ireland Team Manager Mark Theedom who was instrumental in setting up the deal whilst taking part in the International Team Angling event at Cudmore fishery in July.
We would also like to thank our partners in organising the World Championships Fermanagh District Council, Tourism Ireland and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure who all played a major role in securing this deal. It is hoped that this relationship SKY will continue to develop and a plan to include coverage of next year’s World Feeder Championships in InniscarraCo Cork is already being looked at.
