The National Coarse Fishing Federation of Ireland is seeking expressions of interest from experienced anglers to lead our Youth Teams to the World Stage in 2018 and beyond.
The current Youth Team Manager, Jack Tisdall will present the teams at the World Youth Angling Championships on Inniscarra Lake this August but his term comes to an end at the end of the year when he will retire from the role. We have therefore taken the opportunity to review the set-up and believe it would be more beneficial for our junior anglers to have a dedicated Manager/Coach for each age group U15, U20 and U25’s.
It’s desirable for applicants to have an understanding of our sport at International level but not essential as you will have the full support of the National Executive and Senior Team Managers. You should hold a coaching certification or be prepared to train and pass Garda Vetting/Access NI checks and will be required to attend meetings, seek sponsorship and submit reports and accounts. This is a volunteer role but finances permitting, overseas team travel is subsidised. Assistance with logistics and administration can be provided by the executive if required. The appointed managers will have full autonomy within the protocols of the NCFFI.
If you think you have what it takes and want to get involved in the future development of our Youth anglers please contact our chairman Der Casey at firstname.lastname@example.org or tel: 086 056 8430. Interested parties are invited to attend the first round of the qualifiers to be held on the Newry Canal 24/25 June.
The three new Managers would be expected to attend the World Youth Championships in Coachford to oversee the set-up as well as attend the final trials on 16/17 September to select the 2018 teams. Closing date for applications is 31st July.
