Ireland’s Float Team Manager to retire from role

It is with regret that we announce the intention of Mark Theedom our International Float Team Manager to retire from the position in July 2016. Mark has in his role represented his teams at European and World championship events overseas for the last six years and wishes now to offer the opportunity to someone new.

We shall be sad to see Mark leave the position but respect his desire to refresh the role and introduce new faces. These are positive times for international angling with many up and coming juniors aspiring to support our senior teams in the coming years.

With arrangements already taking place for the European Championships and Fisho-O-Mania in 2016 Mark sees this as an ideal opportunity for the newly elected manager to accompany him to these events for a hand-over and introduction to the role. He will then step down at the end of July and the new Manager will take over for the World Championship of the Nations to be held in Bulgaria in September followed by the Home Internationals to take place in England in October.

The team which has two years of confirmed tackle & equipment sponsorship from Tubertini UK to run until the end of 2017, is an All Ireland team representing the 32 counties and benefits from NCFFI funding to assist with travel & accommodation costs when representing Ireland overseas.

If you are interested in taking on the position please express your interest in writing to the Chairman, Der Casey at e-mail: and/or call 00 353 (0) 056 8430 before the 21st January 2016. The interested parties will be invited to attend the NCFFI AGM on the 23rd January when a vote will take place.

In the meantime entries are invited for the teams to represent Ireland at the said events.  Interested parties should contact Mark on 00 44 (0) 28 6634 7891
