Ireland’s top lure anglers meet at Lough Ree for the final qualifiers to choose the 2020 Boat Team
As predicted there was plenty of rain and heavy showers on day one so the fishing was confined to a safe sheltered area on the inner lough. Catches of both pike and perch were needed to complete the 20 fish count with some nice pike caught to 88cm and perch 33cm. Being out on the open lough for day two meant better fishing and three of the teams met the 20 or more required fish.
The weekend saw a serious mix in the results with Simon Gibson and David Dennis finishing second on day two climbing up to rank third overall. Brothers Steven and Andrew Powell fished well and their constant good results from all rounds secured second position for them. Tomek Kurman and Jacek Gorny won the day adding another win to the collection having won all four rounds. An impressive result!
International Predator Team Manager Tomek says:-I would like to thank all who took part. It was great, with fair play across all rounds each fished in different conditions. Everybody fought hard but we all enjoyed the great atmosphere
