Team Ireland Predator Update
Further to the decision by FIPSed to defer all world championship events of 2020 to 2021, Team Predator have to wait another year before they can represent Ireland again on the World stage. The NCFFI currently presents teams in both lure disciplines, on the shore and by boat with the teams selected through a programme of qualifying events.
Qualifiers held in 2019 selected the Boat team to travel to Poland this October. The qualifying team consisting of Jacek Gorny & Tomasz Kurman, Steven & Andrew Powell and Simon Gibson & David Dennis will now carry forward to represent us at the 2021 World Championships scheduled for Warsaw, Poland. The qualifiers to select the 2022 team for the World Championships in the USA will take place in 2021 with dates to be announced later in the year.
International Team Manager, Tomasz Kurman says:- “The team were looking forward to compete in Poland this October but we have no choice but to welcome the decision from FIPSed to cancel the 2020 events in understanding of the current climate, and with high hopes to compete again next year. I thank the teams for their patience and commitment for another year but also to our sponsors for their continued support; and would like to announce the addition of a new sponsors Navionics who will be providing the squad with the necessary mapping applications an essential requirement to compete on the world stage. It was not possible to complete the first round of qualifiers to select the 2020 shore team earlier this year with only 2 out of the 4 rounds fished. A decision will be made on how we shall deal with this for 2021 and shared in the coming days.
