In brief this means we fish only on an individual basis within 5km of our home. We can however meet with one other household when taking exercise outdoors.
Competition and training including the coaching of children is prohibited.
Clubs in Northern Ireland are subject to the latest advice in place until 6th February –
Outdoor exercise is only permitted with members of your own household to a maximum of 6 including children under 12, or with one person from another household to allow for those living alone.
No exercise group activities matches or events should take place.
You should avoid all unnecessary travel. Angling is not considered to be necessary travel, stay local to fish as exercise.

In accordance with the NCFFI Living with Covid Angling Guidelines this will allow for training within our clubs.

Controlled measures are required; in relation to the anglers’ arrival and departure, remaining at the peg and at the weigh-in.
Covid19 club officials will implement the appropriate control measures but anglers are responsible for their own behaviour and should respect club regulations and travel restrictions.

Participation in formal competition is not permitted under level 3 restrictions.

Updated Information for Clubs in Northern Ireland

The NCFFI requested further advice relating to restrictions around 15 persons ‘gathering for a common purpose’ and Sport NI have provided further clarification that will enable clubs in Northern Ireland to run larger outdoor events providing they are organised in stages.

The Department has confirmed;

“It is permissible to hold outdoor events that are organised in stages, provided there are no more than 15 people present for each session of the event. This could be achieved by event organisers working in timed slots, and putting in place measures to ensure more than 15 people are not gathering before or after the events. All relevant public health guidance should be followed.”
