Club Benefits

Membership Benefits

Clubs affiliated to the NCFFI, Full and Associate Members benefit from the following

Public Liability Insurance

Club members are covered for third-party liability property damage for which you are held legally liable whilst out angling as a club, running a match, fishing another federation event or just out fishing on the island of Ireland. [An excess of €500 applies to each claim, to be paid by the claimant’s club]

When running open events up to 35 members will be covered by Guest Membership once names are recorded by the club and available to the NCFFI on request. For larger events, where the figure is anticipated to exceed 35 guests prior notice to the Secretary is required.

Personal Accident Insurance

Club members are covered when taking part in club activities. Restrictions apply.

International Representation

Through affiliation to CIPS and FIPSed the NCFFI is the only recognised body on the island or Ireland able to participate in international coarse and predator angling. Members are entitled to participate in trials for selection of Team Ireland in any discipline.

Coaching

Coaching is key to developing our sport providing the opportunity for members to progress on the coaching pathway and obtain NCFFI Coach certification accredited by Sport Ireland. All members have access to Coach training and safeguarding with Garda/ACCESS NI vetting provided free of charge.

Competition & Events

We manage national, provincial, and international competition across the island providing our member clubs with the opportunity to co-host. One example is the NCFFI All Ireland Championship that has been running for over 60 years.  Members may benefit from reduced entry and have the option to volunteer at World Championships at home.

Governance

The NCFFI is compliant with The Governance Code for Sport of a Type A Organisation. Member clubs have access to a range of policies for their club use with guidance and support available from our Executive members.  We have a democratic committee to which our members are elected at AGM.

Promotion

We aim to make all information available to our members on-line with our website the first stop for anglers looking to join a club, for fishing events, coaching and advice. We provide free promotion of your clubs events, festivals and activities via this website and our social media platforms. Members can contribute to and receive our club newsletters.

Angling Development

Members may receive guidance and support on venue development with the executive committee communicating with the relevant authorities on your behalf if required. We can assist with grant funding applications. The NCFFI is a NGO, Non Government Observer and represents the best views of its member clubs at local and national government level.

We promote equality, diversity, and inclusivity, with membership open to everyone across the island of Ireland, regardless of background or community.
