Further to their historic 2014 team Silver, and individual silver for Michael Buchwalder in 2022 Team Ireland became World Champions in 2024 at Le Merida in Spain. The squad will defend their title at the 14th edition of the championships in Lithuania in June, 2025.

International Team Managers are responsible for the selection process and running of qualifiers, the management and training of the Team Members, sponsorship, the coordination and accompaniment of the teams in overseas travel and are bound by the general principles in the Constitution and Protocol & Policy documents.
In accordance with NCFFI Protocol the Team Manager is authorised to select his team from these applicants based on his assessment and selection criterea/eligibility. If more than 15 applications are received the Team Manager will organise qualifiers (no entry fee required) to look at all those anglers who apply
