The Waterford angling hub this week delivered a three day programme of education and skills to 25 young female anglers from St. Marys School, Dungarvan. Twelve hours of coaching was presented and delivered by NCFFI coaches supported by Inland Fisheries Ireland education officers at the Ballyshunnock Reservoir. Blessed with the fine weather the girls enjoyed coarse specific tuition on the bank which saw them demonstrate angling success with the capture, safe handling and release of a least one fish using the feeder and whip. At the end of the session the delighted youngsters were presented with Anglers Skills Awards Levels One an Two.
Waterford & District Coarse Angling Club working with Waterford Local Sports Partnership Disability Officer will deliver the Anglers Skills Awards over a twelve week programme this September.
